God Gives Talent – 5

GOD GIVES TALENT – 5

Shabbat Shalom (שבת שלום = A Peaceful Sabbath)

In this dark and troublesome world, we all need the Comforter. The video above includes the song “I Heard the Voice of Jesus” by Edwin Hawkins and Northern California Choir. It was published in the late 60s – early 70s and the quality isn’t that great, but it is still very powerful. The words to the song are included below; allow these words to really sink into your soul…and be blessed!

I HEARD THE VOICE OF JESUS

I head the voice of Jesus say, Come unto Me and rest,

Lay down My weary one, lay down, thy head upon My breast.

I heard the voice of Jesus say, Come unto Me and rest,

Lay down My weary one, lay down, thy head upon My breast.

I came to Jesus as I was, weary and worn and sad.

I found in Him a resting place and He has made me glad.

Take My yoke upon you, and learn of Me, for My yoke is easy and burdens are light,

And My burdens are light.

Take My yoke upon you, and learn of Me, for My yoke is easy and burdens are light,

And My burdens are light.

I head the voice of Jesus say, Behold I freely give the living waters, thirsty one,

Stoop down and drink and live.

I came to Jesus and I drank of that life-giving stream,

My thirst was quenched, my soul revived, and now I live in Him.

I heard the voice of Jesus say, I am this dark world’s light,

Look unto Me, thy morn shall rise and all thy days be bright.

I looked to Jesus and I found in Him my star, my Son,

And in that light of life I’ll walk till traveling days are done.

Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, for My yoke is easy and My burdens are light,

And My burdens are light.

I heard the voice of Jesus say, Come unto Me and rest,

Lay down My weary one lay down, thy head upon my breast.

I heard the voice of Jesus say, Come unto me and rest, come unto me and rest, come unto me and rest,

Come unto Me and rest…
